RE:COUNSELING Animated Logo

I dreamed my company name, logo, and concept. I mean it, it came to me in a dream. I woke up and knew what to call it and what it would look like. I’ve wanted to open my own practice since grad school. I’m 100% virtual and do not plan to return to in-person sessions.

  • Live outside of Ohio? Want to avoid using insurance and prefer paying out-of-pocket? Coaching may be a good option for anyone who cannot receive mental health counseling for any reason.

  • That space in your house that you cannot figure out how to contain the clutter. The clothes that don’t fit you but you struggle to let go of. The projects you’ve started and don’t have time to finish. I LOVE organizing things and am tenacious and will get it done. All pricing is based on the project so please contact me to get started.

  • As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Ohio, I offer individual adults virtual therapy for anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, life transitions, and more. My evidence-based approaches provide support and tools to navigate mental health challenges.

  • I accept private pay ($150 for an initial session and $120 for sessions ongoing) and the following insurances: Aetna, Anthem BCBS, Cigna, Medical Mutual, and United Healthcare/Optum. Your insurance company is the best resource for details on coverage and pricing for using insurance benefits. I am in network with some Employee Assistance Programs, too.

Rachel’s Bio

It all started at Earlham College. I was finishing my senior year and needed help. I found it at a psychologist’s office and, after a positive experience in counseling, I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in English and Music. After graduation, I tried a variety of jobs including working in the music industry, nannying a 2-year-old, and real estate management.

While living in Nashville, TN (after pursuing my music career) I decided it was time to go back to school and become a counselor myself. I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University while working at Starbucks. I moved to Cincinnati in 2015 to complete my internship at Xavier University. The day after I completed my internship, I started working at Eating Recovery Center in Cincinnati. Working with eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, and personality disorders for over 2 years allowed me to hone practical ways to help people make major changes in their lives.

I moved to Columbus in 2018 and worked in private practice at Affirmations Psychological Services for 2.5 years. My training with Equitas Health Institute and being surrounded by like-minded professionals allowed me to develop my passion for serving the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities.

I enjoy working with adults 18 and older and especially like helping people through phase-of-life changes like moving, transitions to new jobs, divorce, and graduations. I use an eclectic approach that includes evidence-based counseling techniques (CBT, DBT, RO-DBT, ACT, narrative therapy and exposure therapy), my own life experience, and humor to show my clients that change, while challenging, can be an opportunity to grow.
